I invented the Birria Bomb. Here's the Real Story.

I invented the Birria Bomb. Here's the Real Story.

The pandemic hit hard. Restaurants shut down on my birthday, and like a lot of people, I turned to my kitchen for comfort.

That’s when I made my first-ever birria—from scratch. Every chile soaked, every spice blended, every pot slow-simmered to perfection. It was therapy.

I lived in a neighborhood that loved sharing plates, so I started making birria in massive batches and selling it door to door—birria tacos, birria quesadillas, birria ramen—depending on the weekend. I was selling out every Saturday.

One of those weekends, I ran out of consommé. Total panic moment. I started digging through my cupboards and realized I had some of the powdered ingredients on hand… so I threw them in a pot and crossed my fingers.

There was no difference.

All those hours prepping chiles, blending, straining—I knew right then I was on to something.

At first, I thought I’d make spice packets. But then the creative side of me took over and I thought—What if I pressed them into bombs? Like bath bombs… but for food.

That’s how B.A.F. Bombs (Bomb Ass Food) were born.

I spent months tweaking recipes, building flavors, narrowing them down, tasting and re-tasting—then sitting on the idea out of fear.

Would anyone buy this?

Would it work?

Then on my 30th birthday, I launched.

And boy… it launched.

I sold out to friends and family first. I pressed each bomb with a 3D-printed mold and my own body weight—literally.

Then on a whim, I posted a video.

It went viral overnight.

Orders flooded in. Phone calls, emails, DMs—people offering investments, requesting flavors, asking where they could buy. It was wild.

From there, it was constant restocks and sell-outs. I’d work for two weeks pressing bombs in my daughter’s playroom, launch a restock, sell out in minutes, and do it all over again.

Fast forward to now—we’ve got a warehouse. We’ve got product in stock. We’ve got a patent pending. And we’ve got a whole lineup of hydraulic presses.

I run this business with my babies at my feet and my husband by my side.

I built my dream life the same way I made that first bomb:

With a whole lot of imagination, determination, and hope.
